Alyssa Laine is a 26-year-old female rock artist from Frankfort, Kentucky. The singer-songwriter is considered by many to be an old soul, as her voice is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson, and Joan Jett. With an aura all her own, the self-taught musician incorporates the warmth of classic rock into her own original style.
Her debut, self-titled album, Alyssa Laine, was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Steve Rutledge at The Groove House Recording Studio and released in February of 2017. She premiered the album’s lead single “Til’ Death Do Us Part” during a live interview on Frankfort, Kentucky’s Star 103.7 FM and followed the release with 6 months of shows in Kentucky and Tennessee to promote the album.
In 2018, after working night shift at a retirement community for 9 years, Alyssa packed up and moved to Tennessee to pursue music full-time. She now plays around the East Tennessee region with two bands. She and Steve Rutledge established Liquid Velvet, a 70s and 80s acoustic duo, and Alyssa was recently brought on as a featured vocalist for The Groove Evolution, a classic rock cover band that was voted one of Knoxville’s best rock-cover bands. She plays up to five shows a week, rotating between more than ten venues in the area.
